Cinco motivos para no perderte la «procesión de carnaval»

Carnival Row is a perfect combination of fantasy and intrigue, dark reality, and of course, social commentary on racism, immigration policy, and much heavier subjects. It’s not a Disney Fairy tale, but it’s a fairy tale worth watching. With eight hours of episodes, you mostly get 4 long movies, and it will end when it ends. The second season has already been greenlit, so that’s good news.
Now let’s get to the meat of it. Here are 5 reasons why you should check out the «Carnival Row» series today.
Dresses and Visuals
The Carnival Row series is set in an alternate Victorian era, where people and non-humans live in some kind of peaceful society. As you can imagine, all these dresses, outfits, horse-drawn carriages, interiors of houses, the downtrodden and all should look proper. And they do. But the best VFX has been used for the flying pixies, horned pixies, and hundreds of fae. See it for yourself.
Orlando Bloom as Inspector Philo
Our main character, Philo, is a police inspector trying to catch a serial killer who only targets «critches» (racial slurs for non-humans). Imagine Sherlock Holmes only more handsome and twice as tough. Orlando Bloom as Philo also steals the show in every scene.
Mrs. and Poked
The connection between Agreus and Imogen is probably the most surprising twist of all the plotlines. Without giving anything away, here’s a snippet of it. Due to some unfortunate events, she lives with her brother who suddenly needs money. Just then, their new neighbor moves in. Imagine Imogen’s surprise when a new wealthy neighbor turns out to be Fae.
Multi-layered Plot Twists
The writers have created an entire city in «Carnival Row.» At first, you see this seemingly impossible nature, and by the end of the season, they become a catalyst for a fantastic twist because of what happens to them. It’s hard to do without spoiling anything … let’s just say all the supporting roles, you never know who’s on whose side.
What’s in Store for the Future?
The second season is already in the works, so at least you know Amazon won’t leave you hanging after these 8 episodes. As for the characters, new locations, and more political drama, you can bet on subscribing to the Prime Minister that we’ll have even weirder fae types, visiting the world of that cold and unrestraint in the world.
